How to increase nail salon profits is not a second lease. It is last week’s deposit minus the minutes you gave away. Revenue is the money that hit the account. Profit is what is left after product, booth or lease, and the work you called “being nice.”

Price the custom request. Typical add-on $25–$45. Ink about C$3 a set. Only official O'2Nails distributor for Canada and the USA. V11 $2,999 CAD. X12.5 $5,999 CAD.

    This month, not this fantasy

A quarter with a new location, a lash room, and a merch wall is a different company. This page is the next four weeks. You already have chairs. You already have a book or you would be searching “how to get clients,” not “how to increase nail salon profits.”

Write last week’s chair-hours and deposit. That is week 0. Everything you do this month has to move that division or it is busywork.

Week 1 — name one extra

One SKU. “Custom print — $35.” Put it on the menu board and the booking app. Script the desk. Do not launch six tiers. Six tiers is how nobody sells any of them. If you already give custom art away, this week is the week you stop. Tell regulars the new menu starts on a date, not “when we feel ready.”

    Week 2 — count

Paid printed sets only. Compliments do not count. If the count is zero, sit with the person at the desk and listen to what they actually say. Most zero weeks are a missing sentence, not a missing machine. If you do not have a machine yet, you can still price the extra and see how many people say yes. That yes-count is the demand signal.

Week 3 — photographs and reprints

Every paid set gets a photo with permission. One reprint rule, written down. Ink is about C$3 a set. A reprint is cheaper than a refund argument. This is also the week you stop discounting the fill to close the art. Keep the fill. The extra is the extra.

    Week 4 — napkin vs week 0

Booked hours. Deposit. Paid extras. Owner draw if you took one. If dollars per chair-hour moved, you increased profits. If only Instagram moved, you increased content. Content is useful. It is not profit until someone paid.

Month habit Weekly add-on at $35 Month (×4)
    8 paid prints $280 $1,120
    12 paid prints $420 $1,680
    15 paid prints $525 $2,100

A V11 at $2,999 CAD is a few months of the 12-print habit, not a month-one miracle. Use the ROI calculator with your week-2 count, even if that count is zero.

Profit moves that are not a printer

You can increase profits this month without hardware: stop unpaid custom art, date a fill raise 3–4 weeks out, retail one aftercare SKU, cut the hours you stay open only to give art away. The printer is here because it is the extra that keeps the chair on a clock. It is not the only extra. It is the one most profit posts skip because they are writing for every retailer on earth.

    Profit moves to postpone

    • A second location.
    • A full lash conversion of the back room before the first extra is priced.
    • A 20% off fill weekend that “we will make up on volume.”
    • Grey-market ink to “save” $12 that you will spend on reprints and downtime.

Profit is a calendar, not a mood

Pick the Sunday you will look at the napkin. Put it on your phone. Owners who “will check later” do not increase profits. They remember a good Saturday and forget a dead Tuesday. Four Sundays is a month. One skipped Sunday is how a leak hides.

If you take clients yourself, the calendar also needs a stop time. Profit does not love a 9 p.m. “quick custom” after a full book. That hour had a price. You declined it.

    Three profit conversations this month

    1. With the desk: the exact sentence and the exact price.
    2. With the floor: the fill does not move when someone wants art.
    3. With yourself: the draw rule. If the count misses, the draw misses. No jar raids.

If any of those three conversations feels too awkward, that awkwardness is the current profit strategy. Hardware will not make it less awkward. A date on the board will.

When to buy the machine this month

If people already ask for logos and photos, and you already say yes with a brush, buy when the SKU is written — not after a 90-day “we should think about it” fog. The trial is 90 days. Thinking can be 90 hours. V11 at $2,999 CAD is the first-machine path. X12.5 at $5,999 CAD is the floor-station path. Shipping is about a week, so if you order on Monday the menu week can start before the box if you price the extra now.

If nobody asks for extra and the book is thin, this month is for fills and photos of fills. A printer is leftover capacity. Leftover requires a book.

What “increased profits” looks like on paper

Week 0: $110 per chair-hour, $0 paid extras, owner draw $0. Week 4: $118 per chair-hour, 12 paid extras, owner draw you actually transferred. That is an increase. A week 4 with more Instagram and the same $110 is not. Do not let a photographer friend redefine the word profit.

    This-month questions

Can I increase profits without changing prices? Yes, by stopping unpaid custom art and putting a name on the extra you already do. That is a price you were hiding, not a new one.

What if this month is already booked solid? Then this is the month. Full books are where unpriced art hides. Put the SKU on the remaining appointments and on next month’s booking page today.

Should I run a sale this month to raise profit? Sales raise volume and often lower profit. If you must, date an add-on discount, not a fill discount, and end it.

How do I tell regulars? One written note: new menu date, one new line, same fill. Do not apologize for three paragraphs. Regulars can handle a sentence.

What if a tech refuses to sell it? Then one person sells it. Train the willing tech. Do not hold the extra hostage to a group vote.

Is a month enough to judge the machine? Enough to judge the sentence. The trial is 90 days so you can judge the habit. If month one is zero paid sets, month two is not a hardware problem yet.

Increase profits this month by making the extra visible and the giveaway expensive. Visible means board, booking app, and a sentence. Expensive means you stop calling forty minutes of art “being nice.” If you do only those two things, the napkin can move before a box arrives. If a box is already in the closet, this month is when it earns a spot on the floor. V11 $2,999 CAD. X12.5 $5,999 CAD. Free shipping if you still need to order. Count four Sundays. If a month from now the extra count is still zero, do not buy a second tool. Buy a better sentence.
