What Training You Actually Get: 10 Weeks Live, Plus Two 1:1 Sessions
Every NailPrinter.ca buyer is automatically enrolled in a 10-week live online onboarding course — 10 live classes, run monthly — plus two one-hour one-on-one sessions redeemable at any time, for roughly 12 hours of training in total. The classes are live with other new owners, not pre-recorded videos, and cover machine setup, maintenance, replacing ink, using the app, uploading and loading designs, and printing on both human nails and clip-ons or press-ons. Owners also get direct phone access to our team, and extra sessions are available if a specific topic needs more time.

Why does training matter more than the spec sheet?
Because the failure mode for a $2,999 or $5,999 machine is almost never that it broke. It is that it sat in the box.
Equipment that requires a new skill has a predictable pattern: it arrives, it gets used twice in the first week, then something goes slightly wrong on a busy Saturday, the owner puts it aside to deal with later, and later never comes. That is not a hardware problem. It is an onboarding problem, and it is the specific problem this course was built to solve.
What exactly is included with every machine?
| 10 live classes | A 10-week online onboarding course, run monthly. Every buyer is automatically enrolled — there is nothing to sign up for and nothing extra to pay. |
| Two 1:1 sessions | Two one-hour one-on-one sessions with our team, redeemable whenever you want them. Use them on week one, or six months in when you start doing events. |
| ~12 hours total | Across the course and the private sessions, roughly twelve hours of actual training. |
| Phone access | Direct phone access to the team for the questions that do not wait for the next class. |
| Extra sessions | If a specific topic needs more time, additional sessions are available. |
Are the classes live, or just recorded videos?
They are live, online, and you are in them with other new owners who bought at the same time as you.
That distinction matters more than it sounds. In a recorded video you cannot hold your machine up and ask why the print head is doing that. In a live class you can. You also hear the questions other new owners ask — and in practice, a good half of what people learn in these sessions comes from someone else's problem that they had not yet thought to worry about.
The course runs monthly, so there is always a cohort starting. If you buy today, you are enrolled in the next one.
What does the curriculum actually cover, week by week?
The shape of the course is: get it working, keep it working, then make money with it.
| Class | What you cover |
|---|---|
| 1 | Unboxing and machine setup. Placement, power, connecting for the first time, and the first successful print. |
| 2 | Using the app on the V11, and the on-board touchscreen on the X12.5. Navigating the design library of thousands of designs. |
| 3 | Loading and selecting designs. Sizing, positioning, and how the machine reads the nail. |
| 4 | Uploading your own artwork and customer photos. File types, resolution, what translates well onto a nail and what does not. |
| 5 | Ink: how it works, replacing cartridges, storage, and keeping cost per set predictable. |
| 6 | Routine maintenance and cleaning. The short daily habits that prevent most support calls. |
| 7 | Printing on human nails: prep, base coat, positioning the finger, top coat, and troubleshooting a print that is off. |
| 8 | Printing on clip-ons and press-ons — producing sets off the client, in batches, ahead of time. |
| 9 | Running it as a service: fitting it into your menu, workflow in a busy salon, and how to talk about it to clients. |
| 10 | Pricing and events. What operators charge, how to structure event work, and how to staff a booth. |
Weeks are a guide, not a rigid syllabus. If a cohort has three people struggling with the same maintenance issue, that gets more time.
What can you do with your two 1:1 sessions?
Anything you want, which is the point. The group course covers what everybody needs. The private hours cover what you need. Common uses:
- A guided first setup, live, with someone watching your screen while you do it.
- Working through your own artwork files before a launch.
- Preparing for a specific event — a wedding, a festival, a corporate booking.
- Training a second staff member once you know the machine yourself.
- A diagnostic session when something is not printing the way it should.
They do not expire on a countdown. Hold one back for six months if that is more useful.
Can you really run this, or will it sit in a box?
This is the real question behind most training questions, and it deserves a real answer rather than reassurance.
Yes, most people learn it — but not in an afternoon. The honest picture is that first setup and first print are straightforward, the app takes a few sessions to feel natural, and the part that takes actual practice is nail prep and positioning for a consistently clean result on a live hand. That is a hands-on skill, and a video will not give it to you. Ten live classes and two private hours will.
If you are the kind of person who has bought equipment before and not used it, the thing that changes the outcome is being enrolled in something with a schedule, other people in it, and a person on the other end of a phone. That is deliberately what this is.
Why is press-on and clip-on printing a whole extra revenue line?
Because it detaches your earnings from the chair.
Printing on human nails happens with a client in front of you, one at a time. Printing on clip-ons and press-ons happens whenever you like — a quiet Tuesday morning, the hour before close — and the resulting sets can be sold over the counter, shipped, sold at markets, made to order from a customer's photo, or produced in bulk for an event.
Class 8 is entirely about this: batching, adhesion, sizing, packaging and pricing sets. Plenty of owners treat it as the second half of the business rather than a side note.
Any revenue figures discussed in class are illustrations, not promises. Results vary by business, pricing, local demand, and execution. Build your own numbers with the ROI calculator.
Does the training differ between the V11 and the X12.5?
The core curriculum is the same, but the control chapters diverge. The V11 is phone and app controlled, so its sessions focus on the app. The X12.5 runs from its own touchscreen and is built for continuous industrial use, so its sessions focus on the on-board interface, throughput, and running it as a largely self-service station. If you have not decided yet, the comparison page is the place to start.
What happens after the 10 weeks?
You keep direct phone access to our team. Extra sessions remain available if you need them — a new staff member, a new use case, a problem you have not seen before. And the machine itself stays covered by a 12-month full parts and labour warranty, with a 90-day no-questions-asked return if it genuinely is not right for your business.

Frequently asked questions
Is training included when I buy a nail printer?
Yes. Every NailPrinter.ca buyer is automatically enrolled in a 10-week live online onboarding course of 10 live classes, plus two one-hour one-on-one sessions redeemable at any time. There is nothing extra to pay and nothing to sign up for.
How long does it take to learn to use a nail printer?
The full onboarding course runs 10 weeks with roughly 12 hours of training in total. First setup and first print are straightforward; the part that takes real practice is nail prep and positioning for a consistently clean result on a live hand.
Are the nail printer classes live or pre-recorded?
They are live and online, run monthly, with other new owners in the same cohort. You can hold your machine up and ask questions in real time, which a recorded video cannot do.
What do the 10 classes cover?
Machine setup, the app and touchscreen, loading and selecting designs, uploading your own artwork and customer photos, ink and cartridge replacement, routine maintenance, printing on human nails, printing on clip-ons and press-ons, running it as a salon service, and pricing and events.
What are the two one-on-one sessions for?
Two one-hour private sessions, redeemable whenever you want them. Owners commonly use them for a guided first setup, preparing artwork before a launch, getting ready for a specific event, training a second staff member, or diagnosing a print problem.
Can I get extra training if I need it?
Yes. Additional sessions are available if a specific topic needs more time, and every owner keeps direct phone access to the NailPrinter.ca team.
Can I print on press-on and clip-on nails?
Yes, and it is covered as a dedicated class. Printing on clip-ons and press-ons lets you produce sets away from the chair, in batches, to sell over the counter, ship, or prepare in bulk for events.
Is the training different for the V11 and the X12.5?
The core curriculum is the same. The V11 sessions focus on phone and app control, while the X12.5 sessions focus on its built-in touchscreen, throughput and running it as a largely self-service station.
