Can I finance a nail printer?
Short answer: Yes. Every printer over $50 in our catalog ships with two financing options at checkout: Shop Pay Installments (4 interest-free payments, no credit-bureau hard pull) and Affirm (3, 6, or 12-month monthly plans, soft credit check).
Shop Pay Installments — 4 interest-free payments
Available on every product over $50. Splits your purchase into 4 equal bi-weekly payments with no interest, no late fees, and no impact on your credit score. Soft credit check at checkout, instant decision. Most customers approved.
Examples:
- M1 ($899): 4 × $224.75 every 2 weeks
- V11 ($1,499): 4 × $374.75 every 2 weeks
- V12 ($2,199): 4 × $549.75 every 2 weeks
- X12.5 ($2,799): 4 × $699.75 every 2 weeks
How to use: add a printer to cart → checkout → select Shop Pay at the payment step → choose "Pay in 4."
Affirm — monthly financing up to 12 months
Available on orders $150-$17,500. Monthly payments over 3, 6, or 12 months at fixed APR (typically 0-30% depending on your credit profile). No prepayment penalties.
Examples (12-month plan):
- V11 ($1,499) → from $125/month × 12
- X11 ($1,799) → from $150/month × 12
- V12 ($2,199) → from $184/month × 12
- X11 Plus ($2,499) → from $209/month × 12
- X12.5 ($2,799) → from $234/month × 12
Affirm pre-qualifies you in 30 seconds without leaving checkout. Soft credit pull. The APR is shown to you BEFORE you confirm the loan — no surprises.
Outright purchase vs financing — what makes sense for your business?
For most salon-pro buyers, financing is the better play even if you have the cash. Two reasons:
1. Cash-flow alignment. The printer generates additional gross margin from day one. Financing the purchase means each $125-$234 monthly payment is covered by ~2 nail-art appointments. The printer pays its own monthly bill.
2. Tax deductibility (US Section 179 / Canadian CCA Class 8). Both outright purchase AND financed purchase qualify for accelerated depreciation in most cases. Talk to your accountant — but the tax treatment is identical, so the only real question is cash flow.
For personal-use buyers (gifts, hobbyists, content creators), Shop Pay 4-payment is the fastest path. No credit check friction, no interest, no commitment beyond your next paycheck.
Section 179 (US small-business deduction)
The IRS Section 179 deduction lets US small-business owners deduct the full purchase price of qualifying equipment in the year of purchase rather than depreciating over 5+ years. For 2026, the deduction limit is $1,160,000 with a phase-out starting at $2,890,000 of total equipment purchases.
Practical implication: a salon owner buying the X12.5 ($2,799) can deduct the full $2,799 in 2026 rather than depreciating it over 5 years. That's a meaningful tax saving in the year of purchase.
Required: equipment must be used for business purposes >50% of the time. We provide a detailed business invoice for every order — talk to your CPA before filing.
Canadian CCA Class 8 (small-business equipment)
Canadian small-business owners can claim a Capital Cost Allowance (CCA) on the printer under Class 8 — 20% declining balance. With the half-year rule, that's 10% in year 1 and 20% per year thereafter.
For a $2,799 X12.5 purchase: $279.90 in year 1 deduction, declining $503.82 in year 2, etc. The Accelerated Investment Incentive (AII) lets eligible small businesses claim 1.5× the standard rate in year 1 for property acquired between 2018-2027.
Required: keep the original invoice + proof of business use. We provide both with every order.
Vendor financing options
For multi-printer purchases ($5,000+ orders), we can route through specialty equipment-financing partners offering:
- Net-30 payment terms (subject to credit check)
- 24-36 month equipment loans at competitive APRs
- Lease-to-own programs for buyers who want lower monthly payments and the option to upgrade

Break-even table — when does the printer pay its own monthly bill?
| Printer | Monthly payment (12-mo Affirm) | Sets/month to break even |
|---|---|---|
| M1 ($899) | $75/mo | 2 sets/month |
| H1 ($1,099) | $92/mo | 2-3 sets/month |
| V11 ($1,499) | $125/mo | 3 sets/month |
| X11 ($1,799) | $150/mo | 3 sets/month |
| V12 ($2,199) | $184/mo | 4 sets/month |
| X11 Plus ($2,499) | $209/mo | 4-5 sets/month |
| X12.5 ($2,799) | $234/mo | 5 sets/month |
Assumes $50 margin lift per printed set vs hand-painted (see the ROI math article). Most small salons clear 30-50 sets/month easily, meaning the printer covers its monthly Affirm payment 6-15× over.
Documents needed
For Shop Pay: Nothing — soft credit pull at checkout, instant decision.
For Affirm: Soft credit pull at checkout, instant decision. The 30-second pre-qualification asks for: name, date of birth, last 4 of SSN (US) or SIN (Canada), monthly income.
For Section 179 / CCA filing: The original invoice (we provide automatically) + your business income/expense records. Talk to your accountant.
For multi-printer vendor financing: 2 years of business tax returns + business bank statements + driver's license. We'll connect you with the right financing partner once you tell us your purchase volume.
FAQ
Q: Will financing impact my credit score? No. Both Shop Pay and Affirm use a soft credit pull at checkout — no impact on your score.
Q: Can I pay off the loan early? Yes — both options have zero prepayment penalties. Pay it all off the next day if you want.
Q: What if I need to return the product? Returns work the same as a regular purchase. We refund the full amount to Shop Pay or Affirm, who then cancel the financing arrangement. You're not on the hook for payments on a returned product within our 45-day trial window.
