Short answerYou need a basic manicure. You do not need to be a freehand artist. You may still need a license.

Nail printer for beginners

Beginners do fine when they already know a basic manicure. The machine will not teach you cuticles. It will stop you from needing to be a miniatures painter.

A first-week plan

  1. Do ten prints on practice tips. Learn the finger rest, not the entire library.
  2. Print on yourself or a patient friend. Time the full appointment, not the 30-second brag.
  3. Put one add-on on the menu. Master that SKU.
  4. Then — and only then — offer photo nails. Photo nails expose sloppy prep.

Entrepreneurs who are not nail techs: some jurisdictions still require a license to serve the public. We will sell you a V11. We will not pretend the board does not exist. Training resources: what training you get and getting started.
