What does one printed nail cost?

Choose a few options. We’ll calculate your cost per nail, monthly supplies and estimated revenue.

Planning estimates, not guaranteed yields. Ink uses the live USD or CAD refill pack prices (2, 4 or 6 cartridges; default 2-pack); other currencies are estimates converted from USD. Bottle prices are proposed and awaiting supply confirmation. All results use your selected currency, before tax and shipping.

01

Start with one cartridge

These are planning scenarios, not guaranteed yields: a cartridge is rated at about 1,000 nails, and your result varies with design coverage. Solid colours use 25% more ink in this estimate.

ONE SM10 CARTRIDGE

Printed nails at your mix
Revenue from one cartridge
Ink + coatings used
Left after materials

Assumes you sell every estimated print at your selected price. This is return after materials, not net profit or payback on the printer.

Advanced: ink price, measured yield and stock

25% extra ink is a hypothesis, not a measured O2Nails result. Full-coverage photographs may also use substantial ink. Other refill packs have different prices.

Advanced: bottle prices, usage and stock

Use PG4 white or PG0 clear, not both on every nail. Usage is per completed application, not a prescribed layer thickness.

Base is included for a fuller cost estimate. Some PG4 instructions omit it; confirm your process. Existing colour polish, tips and removal products are not included.

Then plan your month

Add other operating costs

Enter labour and payment fees per nail; rent, software and equipment allocation per month. Costs left at zero are excluded.

Compare conservative, middle and optimistic costs

Listed materials per nail, holding coating choices fixed. The 700 / 800 / 900 cases are planning assumptions; the 500-nail stress case reflects lower published distributor claims.

Sources, process and calculation notes

Currency conversion

USD is the default. USD and CAD ink presets use their respective store prices, which need not match at an exchange rate. Other ink presets convert the USD price. Bottle estimates convert from proposed CAD prices. Editing a price overrides that preset; switching currency converts your custom amount. Reference rates are Bank of Canada daily averages for September 18, 2026, not live quotes. Checkout determines actual currency, taxes and market pricing.

How the estimate works

Ink per nail = pack price ÷ pack quantity ÷ pattern yield × (1 + solid share × extra ink). Coating cost = bottle price ÷ bottle mL × mL per nail ÷ (1 − additional loss). Orders subtract usable stock, then round up to whole packs or bottles. No additional waste is assumed by default.

Steps and alternatives

Typical workflow: prepare nail → optional base and cure → mask around nail and air dry → PG4 or PG0 → print → cure → top coat and cure. Follow instructions for your exact products and lamp. Mask protects surrounding skin; it does not replace print gel. Existing colour polish and other prep/removal consumables require your own added costs.

Evidence and open questions

  • NailPrinter ink refill packs: CAD673.93 / 1,276.92 / 1,808.97 for 2 / 4 / 6 cartridges in Canada; USD482 / 914 / 1,294 in the US, checked October 8, 2026. Other packs and markets differ; this is not a cheapest-pack comparison.
  • Proposed Canadian bottle retail: PG0 / PG4 CAD31.37, base / mask / top CAD9.41. Supply availability is not yet confirmed.
  • O2Nails Italy lists approximately 200 applications. With 10mL print gel and 7mL other bottles, this implies 0.05mL and 0.035mL per nail if one application means one nail. Supplier print-gel yield estimates are higher; measured yield is unverified.
  • CND’s product-specific cost-per-service guide is a general usage cross-check, not evidence its gels replace O2Nails print gel.
  • The manufacturer specifies 1,000 SM10 nails; Italy’s FAQ says around 500. No controlled test establishing a 25% solid-colour ink premium was found.
  • Children: a base sticker does not establish a gel-free service. A child-suitable, fully gel-free printing process is not yet verified.
