How to charge for nail art
Charge for custom art the way you charge for a colour change: a number, a time, a yes or no. Freehand that takes 45 minutes was never "included." It was unpaid labour with a pretty photo.
A simple split
- Print add-on — $25–$45 typical add-on; events $10–$25 per nail on a gel you already sell. Time is the print + cap, not a portrait sitting.
- Freehand / 3D — price the hour. If you will not put $90+ on it, do not offer it as a casual extra.
- Events — price the booth and the operator, then the nail. See event pricing.
If you are scared to say $35, say $32 for two weeks, photograph every set, then move. Do not start at $8 "to get them used to it." You trained them that art is a tip jar.
