Does a nail printer work on gel polish?
Yes — with a sane workflow. The printer is not a replacement for prep. It is the color-and-art step after the nail is ready to take ink and before you cap it.
The sequence that doesn't peel in four days
- Prep like a gel set you are proud of. Shine, dust, dehydrate.
- Apply and cure the base / builder you already trust.
- Print on that cured surface. The machine maps the nail; you still aim the finger.
- Cap with a clear top coat and cure. This is what makes a week of dishes survivable.
Natural nails, gel, and many overlays can take a print. Wet polish and oily residue cannot. If a set is lifting at the edges before you print, the printer will not glue it down.
