For most of the past decade, the ceiling on mobile nail-art services has been the same: hand-painted designs are slow, salon-equivalent quality is hard to deliver in a client's living room, and complex art is impossible to execute in the time most clients are willing to sit. The case for the M1 over the H1
Kept for reference — both models below are discontinued and neither is available to buy. If you already own one, this explains the trade-off you made. If you're buying today, the V11 is the single portable that replaces both.
The M1 was the smallest portable in the O'2Nails lineup. 0.5 kg. 160×100×139 mm. Pocket-size. Glossy white or rose gold. USB-powered.
The H1 — its premium aluminum sister — was 1 kg, the same dimensions, and carried a higher price tag. Same print engine, same 2400 DPI, same in seconds.
For mobile work specifically, the M1 won on three dimensions:
- Weight. 0.5 vs 1 kg matters when you're carrying the kit between four house calls a day.
- USB-power. Same as the H1, but the M1's lower power draw meant longer runtime off a 20,000 mAh power bank — typically 8 full sets vs the H1's 5.
- Repair forgiveness. The ABS chassis is more drop-tolerant than anodized aluminum, which dents on impact. Mobile work means stuff drops.
The H1 won on aesthetic. Today that whole debate is moot: neither is sold, and the V11 is the successor for mobile and compact work.

Full appointment: ~17 minutes vs. 60-90 minutes hand-painted. That math is what lets you raise your in-home service price tier from $80 to $120 and still book full days.
Pricing the service
Mobile techs typically charge a 20–40% premium over equivalent salon work because of the convenience. With the printer, the math becomes:
- Your time: 17 minutes
- Travel: 20-30 minutes (already priced into your in-home premium)
- Cost per set (cartridge consumable + base/top coat): ~$8
If you charge $120 per in-home printed-art set, you net roughly $112 per set before travel, fuel and overhead. A tech running 4 appointments a day, 4 days a week is looking at about $1,790 a week of gross margin — at that volume, a $2,999 V11 is covered inside the first month of full operation. Run at half that volume and it takes roughly twice as long. Your own rate, booking density and consumable cost move the answer a lot, so model it on the ROI calculator before you commit.
