Does Rent-to-Own actually run a credit check?
No. We charge your card 4 times over 4 months. No credit bureau is contacted, no APR, no impact to your credit score. We do verify the card has the funds for charge 1 before shipping.
What happens if a Rent-to-Own charge fails after the printer has shipped?
We email and SMS you, retry the card three times over 5 days, and if it still fails we'll work with you on a payment arrangement. The printer is yours; we just need to settle the remaining balance. Repeated non-payment without communication may result in collections — same as any unpaid invoice — but most charge failures are an expired card and resolve in a day.
Can I rent-to-own bundles, not just printers?
Bundles up to $5,999 are eligible. Email hello@nailprinter.ca to set up a bundle Rent-to-Own — we'll confirm pricing and ship within 2 business days of charge 1.
How do I qualify for Elite Coaching?
Apply by emailing hello@nailprinter.ca with your salon location and three current business challenges. Our team reviews every applicant personally. Cohorts are capped at 10 seats. We're looking for ambitious salon owners or aggressive mobile techs running real businesses ($250k+ revenue typical) who already own a NailPrinter or are buying one in the next 30 days.
What's the difference between Print Studio Membership and Elite Coaching?
Print Studio Membership ($49/mo) is the self-serve design library + training. Elite Coaching ($399/mo) is the small-group mastermind — weekly live calls with our salon-growth experts, marketing teardowns, WhatsApp access, quarterly 1:1, plus the Print Studio Membership bundled in. Studio is for launching; Elite is for scaling.
Can I subscribe to cartridges before I own a printer?
You can — but most owners wait until they have the printer in hand and know their volume. Pick your cadence after 30 days of real use; you'll waste fewer cartridges that way.
How do I change cadence on cartridge auto-refill?
Log into your account on nailprinter.ca, click "Subscriptions," pick the cartridge subscription, and change frequency. Takes 30 seconds. The change applies to the next cycle.
What happens if I cancel mid-cycle on a membership?
You keep access through the end of the paid month, then membership ends. You keep any designs you downloaded during the membership period — you just stop getting new ones. Same applies to Elite Coaching: you finish the month's calls, then your seat ends.
Why use Rent-to-Own when Affirm gives me the same 4-pay?
Two reasons we hear: you don't want a credit check on your file, or Affirm declined you. Rent-to-Own is also useful for buyers in regions Affirm doesn't yet cover. For most US/Canada/UK buyers, Affirm 4-pay clears in seconds — see /pages/financing.
Are these subscriptions sales-tax-free?
No — subscriptions are taxed the same as one-time purchases, based on your shipping or billing address. The membership and coaching tiers are digital services and may be GST/HST/PST taxed in Canada and sales-tax taxed in some US states. Exact line-items show at checkout.
Can my salon expense the membership or coaching?
Yes. Both are B2B services for your nail-art business and are generally deductible business expenses. Your accountant has the final word; we provide a clean monthly invoice email so you have the receipts.
